VMware Converter Ubuntu : Not Booting after conversion is completed

Hello ,

I am working on converter a Linux (hosted on Hyper-V) to Vmware. The conversion completes without any error but I am not able to boot up the server. I am getting the following error

"vmware ubuntu 17.1 Kernel Panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0) vmware"

I am have done some research and I am not getting anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.
