Just upgraded my ESXI hosts
On one host I was updating the VMTools on my VMs.
After a while I was unable to apply the VMtools I get this error
Any ideas?
Seems either the vmware tools iso is missing from the productLocker location or symlink to it is broken. You can also change it to a datastore location.

Hi
I think that ESXi image that you have installed was a no-tools. You can install VMware Tools manually.
Diego
I was able to upgrade all my other VMS last night with VMTOOLS
something happened
How do you install manually?
You need to check that particular host to ensure it has tools in its locker. Other hosts may, this one may not for some reason.
I migrated to another host on the same vcenter and still have the problem
It is a venter issue ?
All of a sudden
This all started after upgraded all hosts and vcenter this pass weekend
Where do I check for the locker?
Not aware of that on VMware new to this
Hi
I attached the VMTools upgrade to the baseline and then did a Remediate and selected all the hosts
I have three hosts left.
Two are up and one is still down working on it.
They are all on the same ESXI host
One machine it installed just fine. The second one failed with same error as above.
Third one who is powered off it is trying to install now.
So it is the VM who can not find the file ????
any ideas?
We're going to need more information. Look at the tasks and also events for this VM. What does it say? Look at the update manager logs. What do they say?
OK
Looked at the events and tasks they show the same information as I posted in the image in my first post.
I then looked at the update manager log and it was not helpful either not an error that would help.
I migrated it to another host and got the same error.
How can I export the update manager log?

Looks like it is there ??????
Thoughts
Verify if the symlink is there. If missing create it by following the same KB .
cd /productLocker
/vmfs/volumes/5b51c2c1-221d0739-9b2f-0026b98518f5/packages/6.5.0/ (Should be the output)
