Clone VM from template and retain advanced configuration settings in cloned guest

Hi,

I'd like to create a template and clone from it and retain the advanced configuration (install tools, get NTP, isolation.tools.copy.disable false, isolation.tools.paste.disable false, etc) in the clone.

I have all of these in the source adv config, then I clone to template in library. When I create a new VM from that template, all of these settings are gone / unchecked.

Any ideas what I have to do to make it work?

best regards

As far as I know, it does that already when you clone it.

To find out wether

VM A - config-file: /some-dir/VM_A.vmx

and

VM B - config-file: /some-other-dir/VM_B.vmx

are using the same parameters you compare VM_A.vmx and VM_B.vmx.

If you are not satisfied with the results of your comparison - use  a texteditor and edit VM_B.vmx until you are satisfied.
