    Vmotion Configuration for high availability

    sukiVM Lurker

      Hi Experts,

I have two identical VM ESXi 6.5 hosts.

Is it possible to configure one host to be standby and ready to take over if the active host looses power?

Can vmotion do this redundancy support?

      Thanks

      suki

Yes, there are a couple ways to do this either via replication or vSphere Fault Tolerance. There are requirements, pros, and cons with each approach.

No, vMotion has no hand in any level of redundancy because it's not an availability feature.
