Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and FIPS

Hi. Recently i upgraded my VMware Horizon 7.5 environment to 7.8. After that i had to turn on FIPS in my Windows floating and dedicated machines (also reinstall the agents in fips mode) because otherwise my clients could not connect to their machines. After i solved the Windows problem i saw that the same kind of problem is with my Ubuntu 16.04 LTS machines. On the console side the clients have a "Agen unreachable" status. I even tried generating a new Ubuntu 16.04 LTS template withe the latest agent and VMware tools but all these machines are stuck in the "Customizing" status. Any ideas how to turn on FIPS in the OS ? I read somewhere that it is possible but you have to pay for the modules ?

Have you installed the agent using the "-f yes" switch? This enables the FIPS modules in the agent. Check out here: install_viewagent.sh Command-Line Options
