Port 80 Redirect on UAG VIP

Greetings All,

   If I were to open up port 80 through our firewall to the VIP of a UAG HA pair, would the VIP send a port 80 redirect to 443 on the same URL?  i.e. would this happen:

1) A user requests http://myview.company.com

2) The request hits the UAG VIP and is redirected to https://myview.company.com

In my testing that seems to be the case, but I'd really like to know from somebody who's already done it before I go through the long process of requesting a firewall change.

Chris,

You are correct and this will redirect to the https:// link for your environment.

In the UAG's there is a proxy pattern setting under General Settings - Edge Services - Horizon - Advanced

By default, it will look for HTTP and perform the redirect.
