Hello everyone,
I've been taking a look into the vMotion migration technology and I was wondering who in the community uses vMotion over a WAN link. As well as getting an understanding as to why you are migrating VMs over a WAN link. i.e Whats the driving need from the business to need to migrate data over a WAN link
So using an example;
Is it because you run a follow the sun application and you migrate various VMs that are needed to run that application with the moment of the sun, so users aren't accessing applications and or data over a WAN link.
All comments and thoughts are welcome!
Thank you for the help!

Thanks Ben, I think though I might not have worded my initial question very well.
I am interested in hearing from people who actually use vMotion over a WAN link in a production environment, and understand why they are migrating VMs over a WAN link. And if at all possible understand what type of VM they are migrating over the WAN link. (Host, Database, application etc)
