Vcenter 6.5
I have 9 ESXI hosts. 7 of which are ESXI 6.5 2 are ESXI 6.0
I have a VM Windows 2016 DataCenter Server that I need to migrate to another Host.
Presently the VM is on a ESXI 6.5 Host and I am trying to migrate it to a 6.0 Host.
I get this error
How can I migrate this VM? I powered it off first, I get the same error powered on or off
Thank you
Tom
update other two hosts with esx 6.5(same as other 7 hosts) that should fix it.
I want to understand why you are targeting vmotion to 6.0 esxi hosts?(how it is different than 7 other hosts?) (what you are trying to achieve by moving to host having version 6.0 )
Unfortunately, if the VM was created on a host running 6.5 it is likely that the virtual machine version is higher than the ESXi 6.0 host can support.
Check out this thread for downgrading the VM version, but proceed with caution and as always backups, backups, backups How to downgrade the hardware version of a VM?

Will check this later
I would love to upgrade them to 6.5 but I am having issues with that.
Host 9 was on 6.5 before.
I boot ESXI from USB
I upgraded the hardware this past week and I lost the boot partition on the usb.
I used a new usb drive and installed ESXI 6.5 from my DVD
After restarting the ESXI host I noticed that it was only 6.0
I do not understand why it installed 6.0
So then I decided to do a in place upgrade and that fails also.
VMware vsphere update manager had an unknown error. Check the events and log files for details
the event only shows this error.
What logs are they talking about?
Any ideas?
