Workstation (on Windows 10 ) does not allow to connect a license stick automatically when starting, only manually. Via edit virtual machine settings and add you can add only one usb controller and no longer a usb stick. What to do ?
Hi GoGea,
Under Preferences there is a USB option to have devices connect to the foreground virtual machine. Would this be sufficent?
Another option if the above was already known, and didn't solve the problem, is that you can add an entry to the vmx file to allow the device to automatically connect at VM start: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1648
In regards to the number of USB controllers - it has always been one and one only.
Hope this helps
Thank you for the answer!
But i tried both and nothing works.
The option under preferences i tried for sure.
In my HARDWARE ID : USB\Hardlock, no Number for Identification.
I entered my Hardware ID, but no effect.
So : it is a Licence Key and i need to connect on Startup.
Do you have another Idea?
Hi GoGea,
I vaguely remember there was an issue with Workstation 15. Can you confirm that you are running the latest version, I.e. 15.01 or greater?
Also, if there is no sensitive information, the could you also attach the vmx file to this thread?
Kind regards.
