One of our Windows 10 pro workstations updated last Tuesday this week from version 1803 to version 1809.
This box runs VMware workstation and in turn a couple of VM's
Trying to log on after the update as usual the machine refused to connect to the domain saying "Trust Relationship between this Workstation and the Primary Domain Failed"
As you would expect we then tried to log on as a local user using the local machine name - we always set up a local user on each of our machines – in fact two one being our administrator identity and the other the usual user of that machine.
None of these identities worked using the recorded passwords.
So update 1809 is objecting to something in the way that our Windows domain is conformed and in the process has blocked the local users on that same machine
Has anyone else had this with a Windows 10 workstation running VMware workstation?
By way of background we run a Windows domain using a virtual domain controller running Windows server 2012 R2 under VMWare and a real Windows server 2012 R2 domain controller which are quite happily replicating to each other and running our domain.
We generally used fixed IP addresses for our devices although we also have a separate virtual DHCP server also running under Windows server 2012 R2.
Our network is a mixture of devices mostly running assorted versions of Windows software but also a couple of Linux-based devices and of course mobile phones attaching through Wi-Fi.
