SSL Wildcard Certificate on vCenter 6.5

I would like to install an existing wildcard ssl certificate on our 6.5 vcenter server and was wondering if anyone experienced any issues with this type of a setup. I have seen mixed feedback on a few online forums about this and was wondering what others experienced. Has anyone ran into any issues implementing an SSL wildcard cert on vCenter 6.5 U2?

Wildcard certs are not officially supported in vSphere, so if this is a production, business deployment that's reason enough right there not to do it.
