Would like to create a report that will show the cpu and ram utilization for a specific time period for a vm

Ok, so create a view and add two metrics to that (one from CPU; one from memory) and create a report that adds that view to it.

In addition to that you can only change the time range of the report by changing that in the created view.

So if you need to see the results in a specific time range you need to change this in the view and then run the report again.
