Upgrade from vsphere Hypervisor 6.0.0 free version to vsphere Esxi 6.5

Hi,

     We are currently running vSphere Hypervisor 6.0.0 (free version)  and wish to go with the paid version to integrate vSphere server.  My question might be silly, do I just need to change the license key in the licenced Features on my hosts, or do I need to do a complete re-install of vsphere  esxi on my hosts?

Welcome to the Community,

no need to reinstall. All editions share the same binaries, so you will only have to enter the license key. This can be done without downtime.

Upgrading from 6.0 to 6.5 however requires downtime.

... go with the paid version to integrate vSphere server ...

Please keep in mind that ESXi, and vCenter Server both require their own licenses?
