Question :
La maquina que tiene instalado vcenter server, se puede reiniciar sin afectar las maquinas virtuales de los nodos ?
If you mean can vCenter Server be restarted without impacting running, the answer is "yes".
Dear miccalde, request you to post your questions in future in a universal language which everyone understands (English).
Now for the rest of the crowd, question asked was "The machine that has vcenter server installed, can be restarted without affecting the virtual machines of the nodes?"
Answer : vCenter is the central point of management VMware virtual infrastructure, but the actual workload runs on the ESXi hosts. Hence, restarting vCenter server doesnt affect the production infra.
few points to notice would be:
1) If any host failure happens, while vCenter is rebooting HA response will trigger and VMs will be restarted on other hosts in the cluster. However post that VMs will not be HA protected until vCenter comes back online.
2) DRS is a feature of vCenter, hence while vCenter is rebooting, DRS will not be functioning. In case of failure FT VMs will still be taken care of however, new secondary will not be chosen.
3) Management of the Vmware infra wouldnt be possible from single UI, until vCenter is back online.
All these will happen when vCenter is unavailable, as soon vCenter is back online everything will work as usual.
Below attached article explains in detail what would be the impact if vCenter isnt available. But answer to the original question will still remain same "No impact on production infra or VMs running on Nodes"
