Microsoft 365 E5 licenses on Win 10 Linked Clones

We are planning to roll out Win 10 linked clone desktops with Microsoft 365 E5 user subscription licenses. I've found info on how to install Office 365, but am wondering how the Windows 10 licensing will work. I think I'll need to install Windows 10 Enterprise on the gold image.  When a user who is provisioned for Microsoft 365 E5 accesses the desktop "magic happens" and the Win 10 features are enabled for M365 E5.  At least that's what I've gathered from some articles here and there. I'd be interested in feedback from someone who has actually done this.

Just curious if you found an answer for this or whether the only way is to purchase separate Win10 VDA yearly subscription to license win10 on clones with on-premise kms server

Hi @ddockter,

AFAIk, this is the right way, the license gets activated for the user when he login into O365.

Did you have any luck provisioning the LC virtual machines?

Did you find a good document detailing the installation of M365 on a Windows 10 Linked Clone?
