Free trials are always of the latest versions, hence 6.7. Licensed customers can opt to download older versions such as 6.5.
You could look at VMUG Advantage - check first, but I think it may give you access to the 6.x versions.
So you're saying I have to purchase subscription to another VMWare program just to download the software that'll allow me to complete my studies? Seems a bit over the top? Is there no other way to obtain the software for study purposes?
P.S I'm not sure why this was moved from the VCP forum as it directly relates to renewing my VCP.
I moved the thread to the area which was most relevant for the issue you need resolving - getting access to the 6.5 software.
Trials and HOLs are always on the latest versions - so your only "free" option is to use 6.7.
As an alternative, you could wait a few weeks and take the new 2019 certification - based on 6.7: It’s January…time for the new 2019 VCP certifications! - VMware Education Services
