vROPs7.0 Compliance feature with Operating System level scanning.

In vROPs compliance feature we have multiple compliance rules based on different standards for vCenter, ESXi Host, Virtual Machine, Distributed Port Group, Distributed Virtual Switch.

When we see VM rules its all related to hardware, my doubt is how to get/add operating system related alerts/rules, do we need to customize any further steps for OS level scanning or is this the limitation of the vROPs compliance feature and the standards management packs.

Please clarify me on this or suggest any blog/documentation if available.

Thanks!!

As far as i know it is only related to vCenter Server instances, hosts, virtual machines, distributed port groups, and distributed switches in your environment. (Defining Compliance Standards )

For example if you want to do this for operating systems like Windows you need to use the tools that are provided from the vendor. For Windows there is a Microsoft Security Compliance Toolkit 1.0 available.
