Isn't there a rule that states if you fail you have to wait 2 weeks before you can test again?
Are you taking a delta exam or the full exam?
There is a 7 day wait.
I did just that and received the following reply via email:
"Please be informed, you need to complete the Exam on or before 2019-Jan-21 by the end of your time zone."
In my case Jan 21 is the date of my VCP expiration in VMW Certification Manager so it seems you can sit the exam on the day of expiration.
Thanks for your suggestion.
While the exam policy does state to wait at least 7 days, a possible way around this is should you fail the delta exam is to take the full VCP exam within 7 days because this is a different exam and passing it would renew your VCP certification. But this is provided you did not take the same full VCP exam to achieve your certification previously.
Note that I do not work for VMware, so this is simply a possible idea that might work in getting around your problem.
I never thought to do that. I wonder which would be the easier of the 2 exams to pass. Since I got Certified in 5.0 I have only done the Deltas up to 6.5
Personally, for my certification renewal, I did last year I took the full VCP 6.5 exam, as others that I had spoken to had suggested it would be slightly easier. Whether this is actually true or not is debatable.
If you are thinking of using the Full VCP exam as a backup, then I would highly recommend to review and compare both exam blueprints. Without looking myself, there is a chance some objectives on the Full VCP exam do not appear on the delta.
Best of luck anyway. Hopefully, you will pass the first time around.
