Connectivity for VMware Cloud on AWS

Hi All,

I am looking for some suggestions if we can utilize the VPN connection in place of DirectConnect for the Bare Metal instances we will be using to host the Tie Breaker & Witness Servers?

Could you help us with more details on the architecture of this configuration. because in normal scenario we can use IPsec VPN with VMC on AWS with out any issue and establish the connection between onprem and VMC environment.

If you do not have very low latency requirements, then you can use VPN to connect for sure.

However, a DX should be used to connect to VMC if you need low latency.

Hi,

You can go for either IPSec VPN or Direct connect as the connectivity option between witness appliance hosted in VMC and the onpremise ROBO or Stretched vSAN cluster. You've to ensure the latency (RTT) is less than the threshold (500MS for ROBO(2 nodes) and 200 ms for Stretched).
