VMWorkstation 12 on Windows 8.1

I am using VM Workstation 12 on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Some of the VM's don't open in Windows 8.1 but open in Windows 10. Is there any setting that I need to configure on Windows 8.1 so that the VM's work correctly.

Welcome to the Community,

hard to say without knowing any details.

What exactly happens when you try to launch such a VM?

Do you see any error messages, or warnings in the GUI, or in the VMs' vmware.log files?

Thanks, I am a novice on VM

My VM contains Windows 12 Enterprise Server and some testing softwares and is built on VMWare 10.x.

When I start the VM it just displays the windows startup logo and just stays there.

Are there any log files that I need to look at and share.

If the Windows logo shows up, then it's likely an issue with either the guest OS itself, or due to different host hardware.

What may be worth checking are the VM's vmware.log files on both PC. You can find these files in the VM's folder. If you want, attach (use the Attach link on the lower right of the reply pane) these two files to a replay post. Ensure that the do not contain any personal information, like user names, or passwords in the "Annotations".
