I am in the process of building out a Windows 10 Horizon environment using the following:
Windows 10 1803
App Volumes 2.14.2
UEM 9.5
Horizon 7.4
What I am experiencing is slow app responsiveness and long login times only when an App Stack containing MS Office is attached. I have tried with both Office 2013 and Office 2016 both Professional Plus editions and have followed the App Volumes recipes for Office. If the Office App Stack is not attached everything else performs near enough to native speed as to not be noticeable. However, with it attached it may take 30 seconds to launch MS Word or Adobe Acrobat. This is all running on a new all flash Cisco HyperFlex cluster so I don't think that is the issue. Has anybody else had any experiences like this?
I'd post this in the actual app volumes seciton, but there have been recent posts about this. Take a look at
Office 365 Slow when ANY appstack attached
I'm currently using an MSI install of office and it seems ok to me, except I'm on 2.13.2 right now so 2.14.2 could be different.
I will post it there. I actually did see that thread, but didn't see anything I found useful. Thanks.
The only "useful" part was someone mentioned rolling back Microsoft spectre patches, I am not sure how many security teams would approve something like that though.
I actually saw that and tried it as well, and it didn't help. It has taken me a week of working through other issues to get to this point. I think/hope that this may the last major issue I have left.
