Available storage for logs /storage/log reached critical threshold

Question for someone out there.  I am receiving the warning "Available storage for logs /storage/log reached critical threshold" in vCenter, I have already checked the logs and made adjustments via VMware Knowledge Base   The problem is not the logs but instead there are a couple .tgz files in /storage/log that are quite large.  For example one is labeled vc-name of vcenter-2016-07-13--18.54.tgz.  Anyone know what these files are?  Are they safe to delete?  Is there a special process to delete, such as restarting or stopping and starting a specific service?  We are using vCenter Server Appliance 6.0.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

You can safely delete the file "vcenter-2016-07-13--18.54.tgz". Looks like a vc log bundle was generated and never cleaned up.

Are you sure about this?
I am concerned if these files get deleted but then it causes other issues.
