HBA disappears from the storage adaptors list when plugged in

Hi All,

Im upgrading host capacity on my environment from two hosts to three. Im using a HP2040 SAN with 10GB SFP+ Controllers. Currently connected to the hosts directly using DAC cables.

I tried to introduce a couple of SFP+ switches so that I could add the additional host. However when i plug a hosts HBA into the switch (and reboot) the HBA disappears for the storage adaptor list. If I plug it back into the SAN directly (and reboot) the host, the HBA reappears.

Any ideas what could cause this?

I found the issue to be the DAC cables. Although HP Compatible and same part number, they did not work
