Win10 VM will not open after hang. log attached

My win10 VM will not open.  I get the following message:

The disk '/Users/joegaefe/Virtual Machines.localized/Gaefe Win10.vmwarevm/Windows 7 1-0.vmdk' has one or more internal errors that cannot be fixed.

Restore from a backup copy of this disk.

The specified virtual disk needs repair

Cannot open the disk '/Users/joegaefe/Virtual Machines.localized/Gaefe Win10.vmwarevm/Windows 7 1-0.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.

Module 'Disk' power on failed.

Failed to start the virtual machine.

I have not take any steps to resolve this as I am not fully comfortable doing it right.

Hi, flytripper

From the log file, it seems your vmx config file was corrupted.

The Windows 7 1-0.vmdk was both used as sata0:0 and scsi0:0.

The sata0:0 device was not presented in the vm, but it was used as the primary booting device in bios settings.

Would you please do the following steps to see if the vm can be powered on?

1. Backup all of your VM, a copy of the VM to a customized forder will be OK

2. Create a new custom VM by

New > Create a custom VM > Windows 10 x64 > Legacy BIOS > Use a existing virtual disk > Choose the virtual disk > Select the Windows 7 1-0.vmdk in the backup folder

And you could choose Take this disk away from the virtual machine currently using it > Continue to the Finish page and Press Finish

Best Regards
