If you slected "Other 2.6 Linux" in the dropdown menu for the OS in the new virtual machine wizard it should have created a virtual machine configured for a LSI Logic SCSI controller
Do you see "scsi0.virtualDev = "lsilogic" in the virtual machine .vmx file?
You can always create another VM and select the "Custom" option when using the virtual machine wizard and select scsi LSI logic or virtual IDE. Both should work since I done this my self with FC 6
I'm a dummy ... that fixed the problem I chose Red Hat Linux instead of Other 2.6 Linux
