Maybe someone can answer better than me, but the build numbers shown on the "Product Patches" page has never matched the build of ESXi that shows after installation. I always just assumed that was the build of the installer or something?
To get what your build numbers will show after installation, you're better off just checking against the Build Number KB Article that VMware publishes:
Build numbers and versions of VMware ESXi/ESX (2143832) VMware Knowledge Base
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's been updated with the latest OS build numbers for 6.0 right now...
I have always verified that the Build Number matches the ESXi server and it's always the same. This is the first time it's showing the build number for update ESXi600-201808001 and I ran Update ESXi600-201809001 which should be build number 9919195 according to the my vmware download site.
Unless VMware put the wrong build number on the web site.
Yes it should be 9919195 build version for ESXi600-201809001.zip. Please run the below command and check what version it is running???
esxcli software vib list | grep "sata-ahci\|misc-drivers"
If it is 9919195, it should it there as
misc-drivers 6.0.0-3.104.9919195 VMware VMwareCertified 2018-09-10
sata-ahci 3.0-27vmw.600.3.104.9919195 VMware VMwareCertified 2018-09-10
As you can see from the attached Results, png it agrees with what you are saying that it is 9919195 but it's strange that the ESXi server is showing 9313334 and you can also see at the bottom of the screen shot.

This is expected. The "esx version" is typically displayed as the version of esx-base VIB. Generally every patch release from VMware include changes in esx-base, which is the core VIB inside ESXi. But this particular patch was released specifically for a driver fix and esx-base VIB is not changed. So, you will not be able to see any version change anywhere ( vmware -lv output, DCUI, hostclient etc) , but as you correctly validated, the VIB version for the driver vibs should be shown as updated.
Thanks for the results.
Yes it shows you have updated the particular VIBs associated to this patch.
