Minimum MS Visual C++ to run VM Ware 15?

Hi:

I am having a problem updating to VM Player 15. The Install says I need an old version of Microsoft Visual C++ to setup and run it.

I think the setup doesn't know where my VC++ is, as it halts and asks to browse for  it.

Please see attached pictures of error.

Thanks, Don

Hi, dbvmware:

The shared link doesn't work.

I guess your Microsoft Visual C++ 140 runtime is broken, would you please try to uninstall them in control panel and install VMware player 15 again?

From control panel->Programs->Uninstall a program, in the list, find the following and try to uninstall them:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) - 14.0.XXXXX

Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) - 14.0.XXXXX

You may be requested to reboot to finish the uninstallation. Then launch VMware player 15 installer again.

Thanks.

Hi, FabioS:

What's the error? did the installer runs or hang?

Upload the installer logs for investigation.

%temp%\dd_vcredist*

%temp%\vminst*.log

%temp%\vmmsi*.log

Thanks.
