Migrating ESXI Hosts to new Vcenter and upgrading licenses

Hello

i have a Windows based Vcenter 5.5 that manages about 10 ESXI Hosts (version 5.5), i installed a new Vcenter appliance 6.5 and i want to upgrade my licenses so i can install them on the new Vcenter.

afterwards i want to migrate 2 ESXIs and upgrade them to ESXI 6.5 and test that everything is ok and after that i will start migrating the rest of my ESXI Hosts.

what would be the impact on my ESXI Hosts that are still under my 5.5 Vcenter after upgrading the licenses and installing them on my 6.5 Vcenter?

thanks

Hello Rawadkh,

Good morning.

what would be the impact on my ESXI Hosts that are still under my 5.5 Vcenter after upgrading the licenses and installing them on my 6.5 Vcenter?

No impact.

So long as the 5.5 ESXI Host still remain on the 5.5 VCS , and the licences are still there.

Thank you.
