Outlook .OST file problem using AppVolumes (writable) when Windows Search service is active

Hello,

We have a Horizon View (7.4) infrastructure. We have an Outlook problem which the OST file when the Windows Search service is active.

We stored the .ost file in a Writable, and it is saved without any problems. The writable is attached in the VDI properly. But, when the Windows Search is active, an Outlook pop-up appears and print the next error: "Cannot configure the Outlook data file". The error is present in all VDI and for all users.

If I stop the Windows Search service, the error disappeas.

I tried to solve the problem with this kb: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2149799 but it not worked.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

It's interesting you mentioned the search index starting and working for you. I can not get the search engine to start. I think there is an issue with the way they are attempting to handle the search index service.

Outlook ost and Search Index and Writeable Volumes

This thread helped me if you haven't solved it.

Basically you create an OST outside of the users\ path

You include the custom OST path, ex c:\outlookdata in the snapvol.cfg

You exclude everything else (except windows search)

the two articles mentioned in the thread above might help.
