Datastore inaccesible

Hi,

We have two separate site, each running their own vcenter and each with their own SAN. One site was designated as the DR site for the other (however we do have a couple of production servers on the DR site). We had a power shut down last night. The production site was shutdown gracefully, however the DR site was not (power was cut). We managed to get both sites back up and running however now have several datastores as inaccessible. All datastores on the production SAN are listed as inaccessible by the DR VCenter and all datastores on the DR SAN are listed as inaccessible on the production VCenter (We could previously see both before the shutdown). Bizarely enough we have two datastores, one on the production SAN and one on the DR san that both vcenters can see quite happily?

Also we had previously setup Site recovery to replicate some of the production VM'S over the DR site. Site recovery no longer has any recovery plans, nor does it have the DR site listed in the "Sites section"

Hope this makes sense/any ideas?

We are scheduled to cleanly shut down the DR site tomorrow, is this likely to fix the issue?

Kind Regards,

Paul

An unexpected power failure can wipe the partitiontable.
So if the datastore does not reappear after the next reboot please run
partedUtil getptbl /dev/disks/device
and post the result.
If the partitiontable is ok - we should check the VMFS-metadata.
To do that please read Create a VMFS-Header-dump using an ESXi-Host in production | VM-Sickbay
