i reinstalled vmware Tools and Workstation Player but I still get the error:
It could be same as desrtcibed here Incorrect Version of Driver "vmci.sys" not Fixed by Reinstalling Workstation 10.0.4
Resinstalling the vmci driver in Windows isn't an option as I cannot find the hardware item in the device manager.
The only workaround is to turning vmci0 value to false is not at all a good approach.
Hi,
Did you reboot between uninstalling VMware Player and re-install?
Especially if you have driver version issues that is a required step.

Workaround:
edit the vmx-file for all VMs and disable vmci

Please search your C: drive for "vmci.sys" to see whether it it is stored in different directories with different versions .

There are three places. I assume one and two are only backups created by VMware.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\Drivers\vmci\device\Win8
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\vmci.inf_amd64_64189b30c198ca23
C:\Windows\System32\drivers

I mentioned that workaround in my original post but also said it isn't recommended
