Special VCenter for Desktops Version`?

I had a very interesting discussion with the VMware Support. Our VCenter had a log Overflow and to remediate the issue we had to fulfil some KB article Actions. In the end we were told that we have used a "WRONG" VCenter download version.

I have never heard that there are special vcenter download versions for Horizon View environments. If i go to the Downloads section in my.vmware.com and choose horizon view and download the corresponding vcenter from there, it looks like the same .iso file as from other vsphere Downloads.

Can anyone tell me more about this special versions?

What may be different is the license key, but the binaries are the same. IMO the license key however has nothing to do with log, or DB sizes, only the deployment model (small, medium, large) may make a difference.

The only thing I can think of (regarding the support answer) is that the vCenter version that you are using is not supported with the Horizon version (see VMware Product Interoperability Matrices ).
