VM Display Windows is very tiny

I installed a linux VM today on VMWare workstation.

The VM boots up but this is what I see. How do I make the window any bigger? I can't work in this at all.

If this is a command line Linux connect to it via putty as a workaround

I get the same with Ubuntu.

I suspect it has to do with VM drivers but haven't found a solution yet

It looks like the next major release of Workstation (version 15), will have a feature called "Free Stretch".

Look at this video (from the 26 min 28 second mark, if you want to look at what "Free Stretch" is).

Based on the demonstration in the video, this "free stretch" feature has nothing to do with VMware Tools as the demo VM is till on the boot screen.
