SMBv1 Requirement

I have four Horizon v7.4.0 connection brokers running on Windows 2012 R2 connecting to a vCenter v6.5.0 build 8815520 appliance and ESXi v6.5 hosts.

I recently uninstalled SMBv1 support from the brokers as part of an initiative to reduce our SMB1 attack surface. Shortly thereafter I noticed that when attempting to add a newly provisioned desktop to a pool, the VM was not included in the list of available desktops (The 'Show all virtual machines' option made no difference). After a bit of t-shooting I decided to reinstall SMBv1 support on the brokers and presto the issue was resolved.

Before the uninstall of SMBv1 I had performed some cursory research to determine if there was a dependency for Horizon but found nothing.

Anyone else seen this? Or know of any documentation that i've missed that discusses this very thing?

I know this is old but wondering the same thing.  Is SMBv1 a View requirement or a VCenter requirement?
