Hostname Change

I'm trying to change the hostname, the file /etc/sysconfig/network doesn't exist?

/etc/hosts is there

Which hostname are you trying to change?

vCenter Server, ESXi, a VM? Please provide some more details like OS, version, ...

Please share more details as to for where you are trying to change the Hostname, whether it is the VM, ESXi Host etc

Based on the file you are looking for, I am assuming that you are trying to change the hostname of an ESXi host. For an ESXi host, you don't need to edit the files </etc/hosts> or </etc/sysconfig/network>. Just change it from the Configuration --> 'DNS and Routing' tab or run the commands <esxcli system hostname set --host=hostname> and <esxcli system hostname set --fqdn=fqdn>.
