VMWare 8.5.1 Encountered An Error And Has Shut Down Windows

I am having a challenge with VMWare encountering an error when I invoke the Edge browser and try to navigate somewhere.  I am encountering the error on a more frequent basis.  It doesn't appear to be anyone particular website.  I am running Windows 10.

Your suggestions are appreciated.

Hi,

Just fyi, Fusion 8.5.x is end of life. If you run it on High Sierra then the whole configuration is unsupported and problems are expected.

However with that out of the way.

The first thing I would do in your case is update to the latest Fusion 8.5.x

Download VMware Fusion 8.5.10

If that then doesn't fix it, try disabling 3d on your VM.

If you still have problems... I'm afraid that the best option then is to update to Fusion 10.

Wil,

Thanks for the reply.  I am currently on 8.5.1 of Fusion and have 3D turn off.

It looks as if I will need to upgrade to Ver 10.

Thanks again,

John

A regular series of errors isn't necessarily an indication that an upgrade is required.

I would get in touch with our support team and see if this is something unique to your VM or if it's a broader issue.

Could be VM corruption, or possibly a bug.
