Baselines for 6.5U1

Hi,

Since 6.5U2 still is not supported by all vendors yet, is there any way to determine if a patch (Except the 6.5 Update 2 Complete patch) will update the ESXi to 6.5 U2?

I'm about to do an upgrade from 6.0U3 to 6.5U1, and would like to have it fully patched afterwards without upgrading to 6.5U2. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is it just a matter of excluding patches that came out after 6.5 U2, or is there newer patches that we need to install as well?

Regards,

Andreas

Hi Andreas

You can create a new baseline in the criteria filters by release date:

History of patches and dates versions:

ESXi 6.5 Patch 022017-12-197388607

Thanks Diego!

So basically I would just exclude patches newer than 2018-03-20 (release date for 6.5U1g).

Does anyone know if VMware have a list of patches for each "update" release, so it's easier to do this in the future? Would love to have an option in baselines going only for certain Update levels (required by some vendors when running certified solutions).

No, you will have to create it yourself.

Creating the baseline with the lower date the VUM will only download from the selected date back. I recently had such a demand.
