I experienced the same issue on 6.7 when trying to perform a storage vMotion converting the disk to Thin Provisioned to a new VMFS6 datastore. The VM in question had a single disk and I noticed it was residing on two different datastores under the VM list. Further digging I found that one of the DS that it was on was my DS that I store all ISOs on, someone had left an ISO mapped to the VM. Once changing CD/DVD Drive to "Client Device" the VM disappeared from the ISO DS and the error was no longer present when trying to perform the storage vMotion. Steps to change CD/DVD drive to client device are below, I hope this helped.
- Right Click VM
- Edit Settings
- Select CD/DVD Drive Drop Down Menu
- Select "Client Device"
- Select OK to save changes
I got the same issue on VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 8169922.
This helped me out:
2.Migrate manually to another host
After that, Virtual Machines Consolidation Needed status came up.
Snapshot -> consolidate -> Vm working fine.
Hi everyone, I talked almost 200 vm via vmconvert, unfortunately I also have this message DISK2000, but I can't remove it. I have read all the cases, none of the above cases helped me. Some other advice ?
