Author : Dani Simeonov

URL : http:////docs.vmware.com/en/vCloud-Usage-Meter/3.6/com.vmware.vcum.usersguide.doc/GUID-3B4A2065-7BAE...

Topic Name : Back up the vCloud Usage Meter Database

Publication Name : vCloud Usage Meter 3.6 User's Guide

Product/Version : vCloud Usage Meter/3.6

Question :

Where is that file saved? It would be helpful if this stated where that file is so that customers know where to find it once they run this command.

It places the file in whichever directory you are currently in.

You can verify by creating a new folder, cd into the folder and running the DB Dump command. the sql.gz file will be there.

Right, but where is that? I know the answer, but the customers do not and they end up having to send follow up emails because it's not clearly stated in this section. Based off the way the doc/command is currently written, the file is saved to usgmtr/home, this location needs to be clearly stated rather than "database is saved to a file"

I'll ask to have the User Guide updated. Thanks for the feedback.

To whom it may concern:

cristofski, I am not a power user of communities and was not able to find your VMW alias.

I've logged a BZ 2149372 to address the doc update you are looking for.

You can track the progress there.

In future, whenever you'd like to see the UM docs updated, please log a BZ, or reach out to me.

Thanks,

Dani

On the Doc page itself there is a section to comment on the documentation and that link brings you to this. That is how this thread ended up being populated.

Got it, Chris.

The intention behind the button is for users to ask questions.

Hope it makes sense.

You can always reach out to the UM IX team, log a BZ, etc.

At least we know that the button works properly now Smiley Happy

Regards,

Dani
