esxi host serial number

I know in the old fat client for vCenter 5.5 I could was able to see/input the serial number for the server, is that an option in the vCenter appliance 6.5 ?

Hello!

Serial number usually is stored in server's BIOS, I doubt that you could edit it though vsphere client.

However you can check it - go to Hosts and clusters -> Host -> Monitor -> Hardware status tab for example.

Hello!

One more thing it appears that machine that were on the vCenter when it was 5.5 and I entered the serial information, carried over when I upgraded but the machine I just added don't show the serial number information in vCenter and so far I can't find a place to add the information
