http failure response

Hello,

I have just deployed the VMware skyline appliance and am attempting to add the target vCenter server.  I have entered the FQDN of the vCenter and a domain account with read access.  I have not selected to use a custom SSO configuration but I am using a standalone PSC (if that matters).  I click on Add and a few seconds later I get the error "Http failure response for https://IPofAppliance/api/v1/manage/endpoint?auto=false: 504 Gateway Time-out".  The communication test did pass in the previous deployment steps.

Has anyone come across this before?  Was there a fix?

Thank you in advance

Grantham Harris

Hi Grantham,

On the advanced options page, please change the PSC ip address to FQDN as shown below and update the status.

SSO admin URL:

https://PSC FQDN.com:7444/sso-adminserver/sdk/

SSO sts URL:

https://PSC FQDN.com:7444/sts/STSService/

Lookup service URL:

https://PSC FQDN.com:7444/lookupservice/sdk

Please refer to the below screenshot for reference.

Hi Grantham,

Since you have an external SSO/PSC, you need to select 'use custom SSO configuration' and update PSC details as well. In case the issue persists, verify DNS entries of your PSC/vCenter and try the IP address instead of FQDN.

That was a good suggestion I entered the information in the SSO config using the IP of the first PSC, then the second and modified the URLs to begin with the IP of the PSC.  Both failed with an error:

"Endpoint test failed. Error message: Couldn't create PropertyCollector facade for getting the VC UUID -> java.lang.RuntimeException: Couldn't login the client. -> Couldn't login the client. -> Error communicating to the remote server https://IPofPSC:7444/sts/STSService/vsphere.local -> Error communicating to the remote server https://10.65.30.66:7444/sts/STSService/vsphere.local -> HTTP transport error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names matching IP address IPofPSC found -> java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names matching IP address IPofPSC found -> No subject alternative names matching IP address IPofPSC found"

Is this another error un-related to the first issue?

Thanks again

Grantham
