VMWare Player version 14.1.2 is unable to install the VMWare tools in the Windows 8.1 VM instance on an openSuse Leap 15 host. It just says it is unable to install the update to the guest tools into the system after entering the root password and clicking to proceed. The guest OS comes up but I have no idea how stable it might be with mismatched tools in the guest OS.
