Workstation 12.5.9 Stops working, BEX Error

About three days ago my Workstation application started crashing with an error saying "VMWare Workstation has stopped working" at which point it would shut down. It happens most often when when starting a guest session or when shutting it down, but it happens in the middle of a session too. I currently have four different images, two or which are running Win XP, the others are Win 7, 32 and 64 bits and I have been using them without a glitch about a year or more. This problem began around the same time my GoToMeeting was updated and it may have started after Java was updated too, but I am not sure. Both the GoToMeeting and the Java updates were pushed by our IT department. My Jave is version 8 update 91.

This started happening with Workstation version 12.5.2. I tried updating to 12.5.9 to see if the problem would go away, but it didn't help. My laptop is running Windows 7 64bit and my Workstation is currently version 12.5.9.28553. Haven't been able to figure out the problem.

Correction: I thought it was a conflict with Java version 8 update 91. I updated to version 8 171 and it appeared the problem was solved, but it wasn't.
