hi,

Starting vSphere 6.5 and later, the C# client will not be available.

Greetings,

you can no longer use the legacy C# client with ESXi 6.5 or later and must use the "Host Client" (web based HTML5 interface at https://esxi-addres/ui) instead.

Are there any features/functionalities that you want to use and that are missing in the Host Client?

P.S.: Thread moved to forum vSphere Host Client

Use WinSCP application to connect to one of the ESXi hosts having access to the required datastores and copy the file.

Cheers,

Any particular reason they went this path?  It seems backwards, especially with the flash requirement.  That is a no-no in our environment.  The performance is also quite poor compared to the client as far as responsiveness to clicks.

The ESXi host client is written in JS and HTML5. There is no Flash component.

Then why does is say flash 11.5 required at the top of my browser window when I go to the login page?

That isn't the ESXi host client, that's vCenter Server's web client written in Flex. There is now a fully-featured client in vCenter (as of 6.7 U1) also written in HTML5 you can access at https://<FQDN>/ui.

I have no idea why vmware won't fix that.

All the documented "fixes and suggestions" do not work, period.

Sometimes Chrome works, then one day it breaks.

Sometimes Firefox works, then one day it breaks.

Sometimes Internet Explorer works, then one day it breaks.

As soon as you see "To view this page ensure that Adobe Flash Player version 11.5.0 or greater is installed", time for a OS reformat and new install.

It's the least time consuming way.

I value my time not to be late for beer o'clock.

Yeah. Supposedly that's a thing that exists.

NOW... If you can tell me just exactly WHERE to download/otherwise obtain it so that I can install it... I will LITERALLY buy you a freakin' drink. Because I can't find the damn installer ANYWHERE. Not online. Not on my ESXi host. NOWHERE.

I believe I have found the installer, but it doesn't actually do anything as best I can tell.  Mount the 6.7 ISO and browse to "<Drive Letter>\vCenter-Server\Packages" and you'll find a "VMware-vSphereClient.msi" package.  Let us know if you get anywhere with it!

Sorry to reactivate this thread, now in 2021.

I have a Chinese Yanling mini pc and need to passthrough the only xHCI usb controller to a ubuntu VM.

Sorry to reactivate this thread but....

I am on Esxi 6.5.0 version.

Host and Datastore on same drive.
On web client the controller appeared greyed out and not capable.
0000:00:14.0 Serial bus controller: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-LP USB 3.0 xHCI Controller.
Ihave found also 0000:00:14.0 Class 0c03: 8086:9d2f. So after made changes on passthru.map file and something strange came up.
On vSphere Web Client the controller appeared as Disabled and grey out BUT, on vSphere Client it was not greyed out anymore and I was able to passthrough the Controller.
Can someone explain this insane behavior?

So for myself no longer update possible because of lacking classic client

Kind regards
