No mouse cursor inside virtual machine

I have setup vmware lab at home on my computer.

I have vmware workstation 14 installed inside which i have

  1. esxi 6
  2. server 2k12 ad
  3. another 2k12 srvr. for Vcenter

Everything woks good until this.

In vcenter i created a Cluster and inside that created a new virtual machine Win XP 32 bit. (i dont have much ram to either install win 7 or 10)

The installation etc of win xp went good but whenever i'm on its desktop only my keyboard works and mouse cursor is absent.

I somehow tried peeping into its device manager and it does show mouse is installed and working good.

How to make enable mouse work properly inside virtual machines??

Installing vmtools also didnt make any changes.

I already have the latest VMRC and tried it but same issue.

Is it so that win xp is no more supported or something?

You should be able to get the option to use the Mouse once the latest VMware tools is installed and rebooted.

If the mouse is not visible or unable to be used.

Download the latest VMRC, which is a stand alone remote console to access virtual machine.
