Windows cannot install required files....Error code: 0x80070570.

Upgrading a VM from Windows 2008R2 Datacenter SP1 to Windows 2012R Datacenter.  Receiving the following error during the upgrade:

"Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570. " 

Any ideas?

The first thing to do - unless already done - is to check whether the installation image is healthy. Do this by verifying the image's checksum against the one provided from MS.
