Expand HP DL 380 Local datastore RAID 5

HI, I need help to expand my local Datastore.

I'm currently running on ESX 5.5, recently I added 2 x 1.2 TB HDD to my HP server and expand my RAID 5 Vol on the RAID card. Total I have ard 13 x 1.2 HDD in raid 5.

however, the local DATASTORE is still showing the old vol size? how can let the Host see the new vol size?

I have tried rescan, refreshed but not working.

can someone point me to the correct guide?

Have you rescan and refresh?

Otherwise try if it’s possibile with host reboot

Welcome to the Community,

the local datastore (the one on the volume with ESXi on it) needs to be resized from the command line.

For required steps, see https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2002461

In step 7 I'd recommend you use the partedUtil getUsableSectors command, rather than the subtracting 1 from the sector count method.

# partedUtil getUsableSectors "/vmfs/devices/disks/naa.600508b1001cb2244d9ab66f75c02348

:1"

Unknown partition table on disk /vmfs/devices/disks/naa.600508b1001cb2244d9ab66f75c02348:1

i get this error, how do i proceed?

Remove ":1" from the device name. What's needed is the last usable sector of the disk itself (":1" refers to the first partition).
