anyone using HBA's with this chipset?

in that case, what driver do you use?

i have tested this driver https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?deviceCategory=io&productid=13575, but it will not detect the card

Have you tried using the IBM Lenovo flavor of ESXi customized iso? This version of the installation media has most of the available drivers for Lenovo/IBM servers and chipsets.
