vra VC:virtualMachine action error "The connection to vCenter Orchestrator server timed out."

Hi All,

I have created an workflow in vro for some VC:virtualMachine operations. it is working fine in vRO.

I have created an custom action "custaction" for VC:virtualMachine resource type then published and added to entitlements.

Now in items tab after selecting VC:virtualMachine resource i.e. abc123 vm->actions->custaction.

below is the error message.

pastedImage_0.png

this message will shown just after 30 seconds.

Note: vRO workflow selects VM in 32-35 seconds.

Please help in resolving this issue.

Regards

Ram

Our vCenter, vRA, vRO environment works fine, until last week where we had a couple of such messages too.

Just like you, on an action for an existing virtual machine.

We could not find any cause, so finally I rebooted the vRO machine and things went back to normal.

Perhaps there is a configurable timeout for this that can be extended to enable longer waiting?

I have recently started to experience this issue ... I just had to re-establish the connection between vRA and vRO by doing a re-configure.

Configure an External vRealize Orchestrator Server

nsajepi  Where exactly (in vRA) did you find that re-configure option?  I only see test/reset/update buttons.

Or did you use a workflow in vRO for that? (which I assume is not the place from where we can re-configure this connection)

Hi jimmyvandermast, I do this in vRA by going to Administration tab, vRO Configuration, Server Configuration, then entering my credentials in "Use an external Orchestrator server".
