Corrupted snapshot files on VMWare ESXi 4.0. Can we retrieve the data?

Our snapshot files got corrupted.  No snapshots listed in snapshot manager but the files are still there.  Is there any way to go back to an old snapshot or retrieve the data and move it to a new server?

Validate the snapshot descriptor file and its content.

Welcome to the Community,

Our snapshot files got corrupted.

What kind of corruption do you see. Please provide as much details as possible, to help getting a clear view of the issue.

In addition to this, run

ls -lisa >filelist.txt

from the command line in the VM's folder. Then use e.g. WinSCP, download all the .vmdk descriptor files (the small metadata files), the .vmx file, the .vmsd file, all vmware*.log files, as well as the filelist.txt.

Compress/zip the downloaded files, and attach them to a reply post.
